No official Saturday Scorcher this weekend past but our photographer did make it in for a free coffee and apparently, a slice of serendipity when this gorgeous piece showed up, and just in the nick of time.
A recent acquisition to Andy’s collection this stretched out Harley-Davidson salt racer style custom was built in 2014 with the express purpose of competing and winning a Harley-Davidson build-off, which it dutifully did.
She’s changed owners a couple of times since then including a stint in Bloomsbury Investment Cars’ swanky showroom.
Harley’s can be quite difficult to customize to the café style due to the very high cylinder heads but this design has some neat little tricks to fool the eye and satisfy the proportions required for a Bonneville revival bike.
Andy’s verdict? She turns heads wherever she goes and even though (like many cafe racers) the seat becomes a medieval torture device after about 50km you’ll still be grinning like a demented soul.
